Crafted from Nanmu burl wood, this folding fan reveals the quiet magnificence of nature’s imperfections.
A burl is a natural knot that forms as the tree heals itself over decades,
creating intricate grain patterns — swirling like clouds,
and in this rare piece, flowing in lines that resemble lightning across the sky.
This one-of-a-kind fan (20 cm in length) is hand-carved from a single piece of Nanmu burl.
Its grain dances under light with a soft natural sheen,
and its surface is finished only with a thin layer of natural wax oil,
preserving the camphorous fragrance and organic warmth of the wood.
Each fan is entirely unique —
the lines, colors, and veins of the burl can never be repeated.
A piece that embodies both restraint and vitality,
perfect for collectors and connoisseurs of fine Japanese craft.
No thunder struck this wood,
yet the grain remembers lightning.
A trace of nature’s hand,
carved by time itself.
This Item Come With Special Maintenance Oil.
