Shigaraki Ware White-Glazed Tokkuri「信楽焼白釉」, height approx. 15 cm. The bottle features a classic narrow-neck, wide-body form that allows for easy grip and smooth pouring. Traditionally used with ochoko (sake cups) for both warm and chilled sake.

The surface is coated with a white glaze that shifts subtly between grayish and milky tones, scattered with fine iron specks formed naturally during high-temperature firing. The base is left unglazed, revealing the reddish-brown clay beneath—a trace of partial reduction or intentional exposure. The body, being earthenware rather than porcelain, has a thicker wall and earthy hue, lending a sense of warmth and quiet solidity.

Minimal yet expressive, this Tokkuri embodies the rustic elegance of Shigaraki ware and the wabi-sabi aesthetic—beauty found in imperfection and in the dialogue between clay, flame, and time.
